And quickly find out what we at mülheimdental can do to help every patient achieve healthy teeth with our treatment.
Our goal is to provide you with high-quality and pleasant dental care. That is why we are constantly working on our treatment and diagnostic procedures. For example, we take X-rays with a DVT (Digital Volume Tomography), which allows a complete 3D view of your jaw. This not only gives us a better understanding of your problem, but also makes it easier for us to explain it to you. For patients with anxiety, we offer the option of treatment in twilight sleep or under general anaesthesia. And for our youngest patients, we design the visit to the dentist in such a way that even children can understand it. We find the optimal solution for a relaxed and safe appointment – for everyone.
Treat before it’s too late: prevention is still the best therapy. We take care of the health of your teeth and mouth to keep them healthy for a long time. Simply healthy & simply beautiful.
Healthy teeth are not only beautiful, but an important thing for physical well-being. Food intake, speech – our mouth is one of our most important tools. In addition to daily hygiene at home, professional dental cleaning and regular check-ups are the best preventive measures against diseases such as caries or even tooth loss. Because: No matter how well we brush our teeth, we cannot completely remove plaque at home with hand tools. During prophylaxis, all teeth are cleaned with ultrasound, hand instruments and various polishing pastes. We also use a special powder blasting device, which enables painless cleaning. Individual teeth cleaning is recommended from the first year of life and is tailored to the needs at each stage of life. Depending on the susceptibility to caries and gum disease, teeth cleaning should be carried out 1 to 4 times a year. The main purpose of prophylaxis is to clean the teeth: they are fresher afterwards, but not necessarily whiter. If whitening is desired, bleaching is necessary – but here, too, cleaning is an integral part.
Periodontology deals with the treatment of gum disease. Typical symptoms are bleeding gums after eating or brushing, bad breath, teeth that are sensitive to heat or cold, as well as dryness, swelling and redness of the mouth. This is caused by food intake: food residues and bacteria stick to the teeth, which solidify into plaque. If this plaque is not sufficiently removed by brushing, tartar forms. The nearby gums become easily inflamed as a result. So-called gingivitis is still easy to treat and is the first stage of gum disease. However, if this is ignored, it can lead to periodontitis, which in the worst case leads to tooth loss. During treatment, the oral cavity is cleaned. If inflammation is still present, a germ test is used, which enables the targeted use of an antibiotic.
The problem: because of the symptoms, we start brushing our teeth less in order to give them supposed time to heal. Unfortunately, this creates a vicious cycle and inflammation is increased.
Aesthetically beautiful teeth may not be innate – but they can easily be created. Aesthetic dentistry enables us to provide professional treatment to conjure up a radiantly beautiful smile. At mülheimdental we offer a wide range of high-quality methods, from veneers to dental splints to bleaching.
Tooth whitening through bleaching ensures aesthetically beautiful teeth: discolouration, uneven tooth colouring or yellow teeth can disturb the aesthetics of the teeth. During professional bleaching, the teeth are first thoroughly examined and cleaned. Then the teeth are whitened with the help of a special gel and a UV lamp in the practice. The procedure takes about 45-60 minutes. For more severe discolouration, it is often necessary to repeat the process in order to achieve the desired results. Afterwards, we advise a so-called white diet for a certain period of time in order to avoid staining the teeth directly after the tooth whitening. In addition, the teeth can react hypersensitive to cold for a short period of time, against which we give a certain paste. This condition can last for 1 to 2 days, but long-term damage is not known. Depending on the individual lifestyle and the consumption of, for example, cigarettes or red wine, the teeth remain white for about 3 years after whitening.
Veneers are small and very thin plates – mostly made of ceramic – which are attached to the teeth with a special adhesive. The actual teeth only need to be minimally prepared and ground down. Thus, they offer a variety of possibilities to change the colour and shape of one or more teeth. In this way, even broken teeth can be restored to aesthetic beauty. We work with full ceramic veneers, which guarantee a very natural look. Both colour and gloss are based on the given individual appearance.
Straight teeth without major orthodontic surgery – with Invisalign we make aesthetically beautiful teeth possible in just a few months. The invisible aligners are individually made and move the teeth step by step in the desired direction. Using the latest technology, we create a complete treatment plan that shows the initial and final position of the teeth. The transparent braces are removed during drinking, eating and brushing. The chewing function always remains in the invisible area and is not changed. After about 3 to 9 months, the treatment is finished, depending on the severity of the malocclusion. Treatment with invisible corrective aligners is possible for patients of full age and adults. In addition, diseased gums, temporomandibular joint problems and diseases of the teeth must be treated beforehand.
We offer various forms of dental prosthesis for the treatment of existing dental defects. The exact treatment is tailored to your personal needs: In addition to implants, bridges and crowns as well as plastic fillings and inlays are available for this purpose.
A filling of teeth defects is achieved with plastic fillings and inlays. Both methods promise a natural appearance and a functionally long chewing power: the proven materials are matched to the individual tooth colour. Inlays can serve as an alternative to conventional fillings. They are used for significant caries and for smaller defects than those requiring a crown. While plastic/composite fillings are applied directly to the tooth, inlays are made to fit precisely in the laboratory. They allow a precise reconstruction of the tooth’s anatomical shape without having to invasively grind down its substance. We use ceramic for this purpose, which has the greatest impermeability and abrasion resistance and is absolutely biocompatible. This makes inlays more stable than dental fillings. Both variants represent an option for tooth replacement.
Depending on the material, subsidy and insurance, the following prices can serve as a guide for patients with national health insurance:
Plastic fillings: 40-140 euros
Inlays: 590 euros
Inlays: 590 Euro
The use of bridges and crowns is an option for the treatment of defective teeth. A crown replaces the natural upper layer of the tooth if it is defective or destroyed. Crowns can be made of metal, precious metal, metal with ceramic veneer or full ceramic and are made in a dental laboratory. It is placed on the root of the tooth and is used to replace teeth, along with inlays and fillings. If only part of the tooth is defective, a partial crown can also be used. In this case, more tooth substance remains. A bridge replaces a completely missing tooth by using neighbouring teeth as bridge pillars for the artificial tooth. It is an alternative to an implant and is firmly cemented in place.
Depending on the material, subsidy and insurance, the following prices can serve as a guide for patients with national health insurance:
Crown: 0-550 Euro
Bridge: 0-1500 Euro own payment
The treatment of temporomandibular joint problems is also part of holistic dental treatment. The causes here can be as varied as the symptoms: our aim is to alleviate pain and avoid negative effects on teeth and oral cavity. To achieve this, we develop an individually tailored form of therapy.
