PLASTIC FILLINGS AND INLAYS
A filling of teeth defects is achieved with plastic fillings and inlays. Both methods promise a natural appearance and a functionally long chewing power: the proven materials are matched to the individual tooth colour. Inlays can serve as an alternative to conventional fillings. They are used for significant caries and for smaller defects than those requiring a crown. While plastic/composite fillings are applied directly to the tooth, inlays are made to fit precisely in the laboratory.
They allow a precise reconstruction of the tooth’s anatomical shape without having to invasively grind down its substance. We use ceramic for this purpose, which has the greatest impermeability and abrasion resistance and is absolutely biocompatible. This makes inlays more stable than dental fillings. Both variants represent an option for tooth replacement.
